SENYAI (RESTAURANT REVIEW)

Senyai on Urbanspoon

You could go to Senyai purely to admire the interior design and I wouldn't blame you, but it's a good thing the food is tasty too. Another gem hidden inside Town Hall's Regent Place.

Side note: I am now writing at Weekend Notes (Sydney) and would appreciate your readership. My first article is on a Tale of Two High Teas.

I don't plan to cross-post by any means - the content will be fairly different, though you may get a hint of what I may be posting about in the future, via my Weekend Notes articles and vice versa. My blog posts will also feature extra photos (without watermarks).

SHEINSIDE (PRODUCT REVIEW)

Product review of the two sweaters I bought on sale from Sheinside (●△●✿)

I ordered the products on the 27th April and they arrived 8th May. They cost about $54USD altogether (after I joined and applied the 10% discount).

Note: I'm very honest with my product reviews and try to be as factual and accurate as I can to help people who are considering purchasing from the store. I don't like to return things unless something is terribly wrong with them and usually just bear with any minor setbacks.

MOMENTARY

This story begins with me stammering ‘thank you’ repeatedly to Yiruma in the middle of Sydney’s World Square and ends as I leave the line, mentally facepalming at the things I should have said.

(‘Congratulations on your new album, are you enjoying Australia, can you please look up as your manager is taking an awkward photo of me looking at you sign my CD?’ – still haunting me now)

OURAN HOST CLUB (MOVIE REVIEW)

桜蘭高校ホスト部映画
Movie review

While everything related to Ouran can be reliably entertaining and any excuse for eye candy is always welcome, the Ouran movie's biggest problem was that it lacked a 'movie-worthy' quality.

Effective movies based on a live-action drama series should relate to the series in some way. Ideally, they should be the climactic conclusion of the series as a whole, solving all the unresolved issues that couldn't be solved in the series' conclusion. Alternatively, they should present a significantly more complicated, multi-layered problem - a problem that would justify taking a movie-length amount of time to solve, instead of a typical episode.

Given there was ample content in the Ouran manga that was not explored in the live action, it was a huge pity they chose such a lackluster major 'complication' for the movie.

REUBEN HILLS (RESTAURANT REVIEW)

Reuben Hills on Urbanspoon

S introduced me to Reuben Hills - lovely little cafe/restaurant in Surry Hills and only about a 5 - 10min walk from Central.

The inside decor was a lovely combination of rustic brick and wooden elements, and clean modern lines. We're wondering what goes on upstairs and what the tanks are for?

(004) MV REVIEW (PSY AND 15&)

MV REVIEW (004)

  • Gentleman (PSY)
  • Somebody (15&)

If this is your first time seeing Ga-In (the girl in Psy's video), she is part of the Brown Eyed Girls and most of the dance is from Abracadabra. Check out their other music videos because they are awesomesauce.

(♔) STE 016

Quick compilation of some short term entertainment I've been snacking on over the past months, in between watching Suits, ostensibly to get myself into a 'lawyer-y' mindset before doing my 60-page Contracts readings, squealing over Game of Thrones Season 3 (meta recommendations below) and actually trying to get uni work done.

  • Video: Audrey Hepburn Galaxy Chocolate Ad
  • Art: Fisheye Placebo
  • Video: What if animals were round
  • Video: 'beautiful' (studio performance) - ayaka
  • Art: Tokyo subway posters
  • Read: Game of Thrones meta compilation
